Symposium Season In Full Swing

It’s that time of the year again! Sports and Entertainment Law Societies all across the nation are holding their annual symposiums right around this time of the year. If you happen to have a free moment and are not studying or reading cases and are interested in attending a symposium, check the list below to find a symposium located close to you.

Even if you can not attend physically, some of the sites below might still have a live stream of the symposium or a download-able podcast after.  I witnessed this first hand yesterday thanks to Darren Heitner at UF.  This past Friday’s UF Sports Law Symposium revolutionized the way we can attend a symposium, by airing live through  Hopefully others will catch on so we can all be educated by these great symposiums miles away.

January 23rd, 2009…..2009 UF Sports Law Symposium, held at Levin College of Law in Gainesville, Fla.

January 23, 2009….University of Oregon Sports Business and the Law Conference

Feb 20- 21, 2009….The 2009 SMWW Sports Career Conference, located at the Hyatt Regency, Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.  Conference starts at 1pm Friday.

February 21, 2009…University of Miami School of Law — 12th Annual Entertainment and Sports Law Society, in Coral Gables, FL at the University of Miami.

February 27th, 2009….Pepperdine University and the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution — Arbitrating Sports, at Pepperdine Law School in Malibu, CA.

March 6-7, 2009…. Sports Industry Networking and Career (SINC) Conference, at The George Washington University.  It looks like they have a great line up of speakers including representatives from all the professional sports leagues and teams, agencies, and collegiate programs.

May 14-16, 2009…… Sports Lawyers Association (SLA) Annual Conference, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago, Illinois.

July 11-14, 2009…..International Sports Arbitration, held at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, UK .
